Welcome to TiP -- Tangible Interaction for Playing
This space will be used for my note-taking process through the research I will be doing in the upcoming months. I am mainly interested in the topics you can find on the menu of this wiki:
- Children & technology: There is an obvious push to include technology into toys. I will be searching for ways where we can integrate it in a positive combination.Where the technical solution can improve the play, add value to it.
- Fun & play: To investigate the sense of flow in play and child behaviour regarding this activities.
- Design Methods: Aiming to develop toy where the children has a role bigger then tester I will be digging into User Centred Design (UCD) methods to select and plan play sessions where children can became co-designers or at least informants during the conceptualization phase.
The research will be focused on how technology could be integrated into toys not considering the technical aspect but its added value. How much fun a child can have with Tangible Interaction solutions?
This project starts by reviewing the literature, thus consolidating it in one document (unfinished): Desktop Research.
